IRL stands for In Real Life, and that is exactly how I believe training should work. Training should not just make sense in a workbook; it should connect with the work people actually do, the decisions they make, and the situations they face. I have spent years working with learners from different industries, experience levels, and backgrounds. One thing I have learned is that people do not need more complicated language or someone talking at them. They need clear expectations, practical training examples, and a trainer who can make the requirements understandable. That does not mean lowering the standard. Good training should be supportive, practical, and compliant, as these elements go hand in hand. IRL Training is being developed around this approach: real conversations, realistic scenarios, and training that respects the experience people already bring into the room. Over the coming weeks, I will be sharing straightforward information about the TAE qualifications, who needs them, what the assessment process involves, and what becoming a trainer and assessor actually looks like. If there is something about the TAE that you have never quite understood, ask me. There's a fair chance someone else is wondering the same thing. Welcome to IRL Training—training designed to make sense in real life.
